Scanian R-sarjaa alettiin valmistamaan vuonna 2004 ja se paikkasi vanhaa nelossarjaa.

Yleistä

R-sarjan uudet muotoilut toivat alussa enemmän ostajia ja vaihtajia. Hyttimalleja on monia, suurin on Topline. Ammattikuljettajien mielestä vanhassa 4-sarjassa matalasta hytistä toplineen hyppääminen oli liian korkea, joten Scania suunnitteli puolikorkean mallin joka sai nimekseen Highline.

Jousitus

  • Täysilma tai lehti / ilma. Lehtijousitus kaikilla akseleilla saatavana maansiirtoautoihin ja erikoisraskaisiin kuljetuksiin. Normaali tai matala runkokorkeus (6x2 vain normaalikorkuisena) kauko- ja jakeluliikenteeseen. Korkea runkokorkeus maansiirtoajoon.

Moottorit

Scanian R-sarjassa on monia moottorimalleja aina 340 hevosvoimaisesta aina 730 hevosvoimaan asti. R500-R730 on V8 moottorilla.
